What We Cover
- Assistance may be available for the following repairs:
- Starter and alternator replacement
- Battery replacement when preventing vehicle operation
- Fuel system repairs
- Brake repairs, including pads and rotors
- Steering and suspension repairs
- Tire replacement for unsafe or severely worn tires
- Headlight and brake light repairs
- Heating and defrost system repairs (case-by-case)
- Electrical, ignition, and wiring repairs that prevent a vehicle from starting or operating safely
Before You Apply
- You must own the vehicle being repaired.
- Two written repair estimates are required from licensed, certified repair businesses with a physical location.
- Step Forward must approve the eligibility and repairs before work begins.
Funding is limited, assistance is not guaranteed, and the program may not cover the full cost of repairs. This program ends November 30, 2026.
