What to Expect
Work as a part-time Education Aide
Those hired as part-time Education Aides will work up to 20 hours per week inside a Head Start classroom, assisting the teachers and assistant teachers with meeting child development goals and curriculum implementation. This will also help fulfill the required 420 hours of classroom experience necessary to obtain a CDA.
Receive on-demand Training
Each PATT participant will receive 120 hours of online, on-demand courses in order for the individual to obtain their Child Development Associate Credential, necessary to become a full-time teacher.
Participate in weekly Professional Development
Once a week, participants will meet with Step Forward's Professional Development team to increase their knowledge of early childhood education, Step Forward policies and procedures, and workplace professionalism.
Obtain your CDA
Once the 16-week cohort is over and participants obtain their Child Development Associate Credential, individuals can be promoted to assistant teacher and beyond. Individuals will help prepare and implement all classroom activities while ensuring the care and safety of children within the Head Start program.
Work in a rewarding, educational setting
As a part of the Head Start program, our professionals have the unique opportunity to positively impact the lives of young children and their families, laying the foundation for a brighter future.
Being a male in a predominantly female field has allowed me to bring a unique perspective to the classroom, inspiring young learners to see beyond gender norms and pursue their passions unapologetically. The mentorship provided by experienced educators has been invaluable, fostering an environment where questions are encouraged, and growth is nurtured.
