Step Forward President and CEO, Dr. Jacklyn Chisholm and Vice President of External Affairs, Douglas Bennett, shared their reasoning for getting the COVID-19 vaccine with Ohio Urban Resources System (OURS) for their Vaccine Public Service Announcement project. The project is particularly targeted to communities of color where vaccine hesitancy is common and access to health care may be limited.
“OURS agencies employ amazing people who are well-known in their communities,” said OURS Executive Director Yvonne Cherell. “Getting vaccinated is important to them for a variety of reasons and, we believe, will encourage others to get their shot as well.”
“If my parents can do it, I know I can too.”
As a community action agency serving low-income communities, Step Forward recognizes the importance health plays in communities. Ohio public health agencies have worked hard to make the COVID-19 vaccine widely available, getting the vaccine is safe and effective.
