Client Confidentiality and Referrals
We regularly receive referrals from third parties, including elected officials and community organizations. On occasion, we get requests for the status of a client application from physicians, social workers, and case managers. We request your understanding that Step Forward operates in compliance with confidentiality agreements issued by the Ohio Department of Development and must keep all information concerning clients and former clients confidential. We also maintain client privacy in accordance with our agency’s policy for Rights of Persons Served.
Without appropriate written authorization from the person, we do not:
- Confirm if a person has sought services.
- Confirm if a person has or will be receiving services.
- Communicate personal client information in any manner, including electronically, verbally, and in writing.
