No matter your age, Step Forward helps people discover and begin the careers of their dreams – careers that offer greater stability and security for their families. We offer personal assessments to determine interests, assess skills, set goals and establish a plan to achieve them.
All services are free to eligible Cuyahoga County residents.
Services are offered at either 1801 Superior Ave, Suite 400 in the Central Neighborhood Opportunity Center or 14209 Euclid Ave., inside the Forbes Early Learning Center. Hours of operation for both locations are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., excluding holidays.

In order to receive emergency utility assistance, you will need to take the following steps:
Schedule a phone appointment online at stepforward.itfrontdesk.com
Complete an online application at energyhelp.ohio.gov
Keep your appointment by answering our scheduled call
Within 10 days, upload additional documentation requests at energyhelp.ohio.gov
Emergency utility assistance is available for those who are in disconnect status, need to establish new service, need to transfer service, or have a PIPP default with disconnection. Summer Crisis Assistance is also available to individuals 60 years of age and older and individuals with a documented medical condition, verified by a licensed medical professional qualified under Ohio law to write prescriptions.
For further assistance regarding energy assistance, please call our new call center at (216) 350-8008. It is available Monday-Friday from 8:00AM to 5:00PM. The representatives are able to prioritize based on need. They can check the status of a HEAP application, answer general questions, and ticket all inquiries requiring follow up from a HEAP staff member.
At this time, Step Forward is able to assist renters with security deposits, rental payments and internet.
Applications are processed first-come, first serve. We encourage everyone interested in this emergency assistance to apply sooner than later, as the portal will intermittently close to process the high volume of applications. If it is closed at the time you want to apply, please keep checking back to see when the portal reopens.

Our agency offers Early Head Start, which serves pregnant mothers and children six weeks of age through three years old. Head Start serves children three years of age through five years old. Step Forward's early childhood education is available at no cost to income-eligible households.
